A partnership bringing Svea’s payment services to Odoo webstores

Odoo is a Belgian ERP software platform with 17 million users worldwide. The system differs from traditional ERP solutions through its open-source nature and extensive application ecosystem – the same platform can be used to manage websites, e-commerce, HR functions, travel expense claims, inventory management, and logistics, among other things. Odoo’s local partners help end customers implement the system and develop additional applications for it when neede. SprintIT is Odoo’s largest partner in the Nordics and Baltics.

We had discussed various collaboration opportunities with SprintIT before our partnership eventually took shape around the needs of a shared customer. The customer was undergoing an ERP transformation project and selected Odoo as their ERP system and SprintIT as their implementation partner. Since the customer was already using our payment solution Checkout in their online store, it was only natural to bring the solution into the new Odoo webshop as well. As a result of our collaboration, a payment integration was developed and published in Odoo’s app store.

Thanks to the integration, Odoo users can now easily implement our payment solution in their online stores. An increasing number of SprintIT’s customers operate not only in Finland but also internationally, making our payment application a valuable addition to SprintIT’s service offering. According to SprintIT, our Checkout service is an excellent payment solution for the Nordic markets because it supports local payment methods such as MobilePay and Swish. In addition, the service is flexible, allowing modifications to the shopping cart even after order confirmation. SprintIT sees Checkout particularly well suited for B2B customers and industries where products or services involve many changing variables.

The number of Odoo online stores is growing

Although Odoo is still relatively unknown as an e-commerce platform, the number of Odoo webstores continues to grow steadily. SprintIT sees opportunities to deepen our collaboration in the future as more online stores migrate to the Odoo platform. At the moment, only the core features of Checkout have been implemented, meaning there is still plenty of room for further development based on customer needs.
